Thermostat not matching the feel or reading of thermometer
Thermostat not matching the feel or reading of thermometer
I have an inverter heat pump thats plenty big for the space 24k for 1100 sq.ft. I know…i wish i saw this forum before because people here would do an 18k Im sure. Whats done is done and cant go back now so lets not go down that road.Anyways. I have the unit set to 70F and I have a thermometer setup right next to it. Today the units thermostat read 78F and the thermometer next to it read 72F. It definitely felt 72F or even colder in the house. It was 90F outside today but theres no consistency to this. Some 90F days the thermostat reads the same as the thermometer. Right now its 80F and they both read the same temp. So the thermometer isnt faulty.
What is causing this? Im baffled.
The return filter is new. The unit was installed December 2021.
I might help us if we knew what thermostat you have 😉

http://trane.mylinkdrive.com/USA/Con…CRAU_J?productSorry.
Right now the thermometer is reading 70F and the units thermostat is 70F so they are matching now.
I cant make sense of this.
You’ll have to call me when it’s not working.
Can’t diagnose it if it’s working properly when I’m there.
